Nascar Betting: Johnson Rebounds with Dover Win

Jim­mie John­son, the four-time defend­ing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cham­pion won at Dover Inter­na­tional Speed­way on Sun­day. Nascar bet­ting action at Lines­Maker was heavy on John­son despite a slow start last week. Although strug­gling in the first race of The Chase of New Hamp­shire last week, John­son led 191 of 400 laps to win AAA 400 at Dover and put the naysay­ers to rest once and for all.

Fel­low Chase dri­ver Jeff Bur­ton, who fin­ished as a runner-up, failed to lead any laps. Joey Logano fin­ished third, fol­lowed by Chasers Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards in the fourth and fifth posi­tion respectively.

Fin­ish­ing sixth was Chaser Kyle Busch, whereas non-Chasers Paul Menard and Ryan New­man fin­ished in sev­enth and eighth apiece. Relieved to make it to a top-10 fin­ish, point leader Denny Ham­lin ran ninth.

In the point stand­ings, Ham­lin is still lead­ing by 35 points over John­son. Kyle Busch and brother Kurt Busch are at third and fourth place respec­tively, fol­lowed by Har­vick and Edwards. Con­sti­tut­ing the final six points posi­tions in The Chase are Bur­ton, Gor­don, Bif­fle, Stew­art, Kenseth and Bowyer. The series heads to Kansas next Sunday.

Look­ing forward, NASCAR bet­ting lines have Jim­mie John­son and Denny Ham­lin shar­ing the top spot with 6 to 1 odds to win the series.
