NFL Betting: Seattle Ousts San Diego
Attracting more than 60% of the NFL betting action, the San Diego Chargers were clear favorites over Seattle among LinesMaker bettors. With the betting line at -3.5, they failed to live up to the expectations of the majority of bettors as they lost to Seattle.
Running back Leon Washington tied an NFL record as he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, as Seattle posted a 27–20 win over San Diego on Sunday.
Returning the second kickoff 101 yards to score, Washington broke a 20-all tie with a 99 yard kick with only 6:24 minutes remaining. With this, he became the 10th player to return two kickoffs for TDs in a game.
The defense of Seattle attempted five turnovers. Two interceptions came from rookie Earl Thomas, including the one within the Seattle’s 10-yad line in the last seconds as Phillip Rivers tried a last-ditch San Diego comeback.
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck completed 19-of-32 passing for 220 yards along with an interception and a touchdown for the Seahawks.
Phillip Rivers also tossed for a career-high 455 yards, while completing 29-of-53 with two interceptions and two touchdowns. Antonio Gates completed 7 for 109 yards and contributed with a touchdown for the Chargers (1–2).
