NHL Betting Volume in the West

As the NHL sea­son is set to begin the sports bet­ting action at Lines­Maker as prov­ing some early indi­ca­tion of the early bet­ting favorites. Today we look at the West­ern Con­fer­ence and the top five teams based on the col­lec­tive bet­ting vol­ume of our customers.

San Jose Sharks: Dany Heat­ley is a great addi­tion and could also boost the per­for­mance of Joe Thorn­ton. it is quite pos­si­ble both of these play­ers could have career years. Still, until the Sharks need prove they can pro­duce beyond the reg­u­lar season.

Chicago Black­hawks: The Hawks have the most team depth in the con­fer­ence. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are sup­ported by Patrick Sharp, Kris Ver­steeg and healthy Mar­ian Hossa will add to that. Chicago has the top young defense in the NHL with Dun­can Keith, Brent Seabrook, Brian Camp­bell and Cam Barker. Goal­tend­ing is the only the only thing keep­ing them from being the bet­ting favorite.

Cal­gary Flames: Cal­gary also has a strong defense with Jay Bouwmeester, Dion Pha­neuf and Robyn Regehr. Rene Bourque has plenty of poten­tial and of course the lead­er­ship Jarome Iginla make the Flames a legit play­off team.

Detroit Red Wings: Bet­ting is still heavy on the Wings’ to win the Stan­ley Cup this sea­son despite los­ing four of their top six goal scor­ers. Hossa, Hudler, Samuels­son were lost to free agency and Franzen to injury. Todd Bertuzzi helps but the Wings surely face a tougher road this season.

Ana­heim Ducks: The Ducks should not be under­es­ti­mated. If Bobby Ryan finds his form, the Ducks will have one of the NHL’s top lines along with Ryan Get­zlaf and Corey. The Ducks are strong offen­sively but Scott Nie­der­mayer needs sup­port with their young defense.
