Doug McDer­mott scored 21 points on Mon­day to ignite the Creighton Blue­jays’ 84–76 tri­umph over the Ore­gon Ducks in the CBI Tournament.

Draw­ing almost 60% of the NCAA bas­ket­ball bet­ting action, the Creighton Blue­jays were the clear favorites against Ore­gon among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the col­lege bas­ket­ball lines at –5, Creighton rejoiced the major­ity of bet­tors by defeat­ing the Ducks.

Gre­gory Echenique pulled in 15 points and nine rebounds for Creighton (23–14) in the first game of the best-of-three CBI title series.

Both Jahenns Mani­gat and Josh Jones chipped in with 11 points for the Blue­jays, who made it to the cham­pi­onship round by beat­ing San Jose State, David­son and Cen­tral Florida.

Joe­van Catron scored 15 points and nine boards to pace Ore­gon (19–18), which downed with Boise State, Weber State and Duquesne to reach the final. Gar­rett Sim and Jay-R Strow­bridge each con­tributed with 14 points for the Ducks.
