Attract­ing nearly 60% of the NCAA bas­ket­ball bet­ting action, the But­ler Bull­dogs, with col­lege bas­ket­ball lines at +5, were the favorites against Con­necti­cut among Lines­Maker bet­tors, if not the odd­mak­ers. How­ever, But­ler failed to delight the major­ity of bet­tors as they lost to the point-favorite Huskies.

Irre­spec­tive of com­plet­ing just 5-of-19 from the field, No. 3 UConn (32–9) was led by Walker.

Jeremy Lamb chipped in with 12 points and seven boards for Con­necti­cut, which clinched their first cham­pi­onship since 2004.

Alex Ori­akhi con­tributed 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies, who stopped 10 shots and reg­is­tered a 51–38 rebound­ing advantage.

The Huskies man­aged just 1-for-11 from 3-point ter­ri­tory, hav­ing the low­est point total for an NCAA cham­pion since 1949.

The eighth-seeded Bull­dogs (28–10) com­pleted just 18.8 per­cent from field, which is the low­est in any NCAA cham­pi­onship game until now.

Shelvin Mack scored 13 points and nine rebounds for But­ler, which had 9-of-33 from beyond the arc.
