NCAA Basketball Betting: Cougars Topple Wildcats, Fail to Cover Spread
The Washington State Cougars rolled past the Northwestern Wildcats 69–66 Wednesday, even as Klay Thompson pulled in 17 points and nine rebounds in the NIT quarterfinals.
Drawing around 65% of the NCAA basketball betting action, the Washington State Cougars were the clear favorites against Northwestern among LinesMaker bettors. With the college basketball lines at –4, Washington State disappointed the majority of bettors despite winning over the Wildcats, as they failed to cover the spread.
Brock Motum chipped in with 13 points for Washington State (22–12), which will battle Wichita State in the semifinals.
Abe Lodwick had a foul for catching a pass under the basket and failed to get off a shot. He missed both free throws and sent the game into overtime.
Michael Thompson poured in 20 points to pace the Wildcats (20–14) and Alex Marcotullio added 16 points. Northwestern completed just one of their 10 shots in the overtime.
