Football Playoff Odds Be Mindful of Fluctuations

The National Football League games are the most watched sporting events in the world. The television ratings on the NFL games have soared through the roof. The NFL even has its own television network and interest in the sport is rivaling baseball for being a topic of conversation among sports fans throughout the year.

The NFL used to be strictly a Sunday afternoon league. I remember as a youngster playing a basketball game in the winter of 1961 and having more interest in the touchdown pass from Y.A. Tittle to Del Shofner than in completing a three point play. I missed the free throw but the Giants beat the Eagles on that Sunday afternoon.

Many of us developed a penchant for the game of football in the glory days of the Green Bay Packers. Under the tutelage of legendary mentor Vince Lombardi, “The Pack” dominated play in the 60’s. After dropping the Championship game of 1960 to quarterback Norm Van Brocklin and the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay beat the Giants in the next two Championship games. The Packers subsequently lost the following two title contests to the Chicago Bears and Billy Wade in 1964 and to the Indianapolis Colts and Johnny Unitas in 1965. Cleveland and Jim Brown upset Baltimore for the Title that year. However, Green Bay rebounded to win the title in the years 1966 and 1967, which included the first two Super Bowl Titles. These games featured heavy play on the NFL football playoff odds.

The custom of playing football playoff odds has been an American tradition for well over 60 years. Since the advent of the Super Bowl, the nation has made betting the NFL football playoff odds the betting event each winter. The master oddsmakers have always been meticulous in the setting of the NFL football playoff odds. Occasionally though, the oddsmakers are thrown for a loop such as in the 1969 Super Bowl .The Indianapolis Colts were an eighteen point favorite and lost the game to Joe Willie Namath and the New York Jets. The NFL playoffs are the most popular playoffs in the world.

Given that anything can happen, all sports bettors should be mindful of fluctuations in the NFL football playoff odds. A good source for NFL playoff odds is LinesMaker Sportsbook.
