Nadal, Federer Top Seeds for U.S. Open

Rafael Nadal and Roger Fed­erer are on top for the U.S. Open, the final major ten­nis tour­na­ment of the year. Both are the top two seeds for the U.S. Open begin­ning on Mon­day, and con­tin­u­ing through to Sept. 12.

For the past 13 weeks and 59 weeks in total in his career, Nadal has been run­ning as the No.1 ranked player in the world. After emerg­ing as the vic­tor at Wim­ble­don and the French Open this year, he col­lected 10,745 points to take the lead. He is fol­lowed by Fed­erer, who is enjoy­ing the sec­ond slot in the rank­ings with 7,215 points and after win­ning the 2010 Aus­tralian Open championship.

Speak­ing from a  bet­ting point of view, Lines­Maker has  Roger Fed­erer as the cur­rent favorite to win the 2010 U.S. Open with +200 odds, fol­lowed by Rafael Nadal (+225) and Andy Mur­ray (+350).

Novak Djokovic acquired the third posi­tion with 6,665 rat­ings points, fol­lowed by Andy Mur­ray (5,125), 215 and Robin Soder­ling (4,910) for fourth and fifth slot, likewise.

Niko­lay Davy­denko (4,285), Tomas Berdych (3,860), Fer­nando Ver­dasco (3,330), Rod­dick (3,225) and U.S. Open 2009 cham­pion Juan Mar­tin Del Potro (3,170) rounded up the top 10 posi­tion. How­ever, Potro will not be defend­ing his title due to a wrist injury.
