The game end­ing ninth-frame homer from Brian McCann sparked an Atlanta come­back and ral­lied the Braves to a 7–6 win over Florida.

Diaz fol­lowed with a 2–1 deliv­ery for an opposite-field homer, while group­ing in left field with Melky Cabr­era and Eric Hinske. Two bats later, McCann pulled a two-out solo shot, which was a dou­ble in the begin­ning but turned out to be a game-winning round-tripper. This marked the 23rd vic­tory of the Braves this sea­son in their final at-bat.

Takashi Saito (2–3) was accred­ited with the suc­cess for a score­less ninth inning. The Braves main­tained their two-game National League East advan­tage over the Philadel­phia Phillies.
