Edmonton Overwhelms NHL Betting Favorite Colorado
The Edmonton Oilers registered a 5–1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday, courtesy of Devan Dubnyk who made 38 saves and gave up just one power play goal in the second period.
Attracting nearly 70% of the NHL betting action, the Colorado Avalanche were the clear favorites against Edmonton among LinesMaker bettors. With the NHL lines at –141, Colorado disappointed the majority of bettors by losing to the Oilers (+130).
Dubnyk helped Edmonton to take a 3–0 lead, before allowing the only goal in the second period. Dustin Penner netted a goal in the first period for the Oilers, who won their 20th game of the season that is the fewest in the NHL.
Sam Gagner and Taylor Hall scored for Edmonton in the second period. Jordan Eberle and Kurtis Foster added third-period tallies for the Oilers, who registered their second five-goal game in three outings.
Brian Elliott was tagged with the loss for allowing five goals on 31 shots, as the Avalanche lost their 11th out of 12 contests.
