Buffalo Overpowers NHL Betting Favorite New York
Jhonas Enroth had his first career shutout, powering the Buffalo Sabres to a 1–0 victory over the New York Rangers on Wednesday.
Attracting nearly 65% of the NHL betting action, the New York Rangers were the clear favorites to win against Buffalo among LinesMaker bettors. With the NHL lines at –117, New York disappointed the majority of bettors as they lost to the Sabres (+108).
Buffalo were playing without Ryan Miller, who was held out due to injury after taking a blow from Dion, Phaneuf, Toronto defenseman, on Tuesday. Enroth filled up for Miller, and made 23 saves in just his ninth NHL game.
Tim Connolly netted the only goal of the contest with 5:28 into the second for the Sabres, who tied with the Rangers for seventh spot in the Eastern Conference.
Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 34 saves for New York, which had emerged victors in six out of seven games.
