Buffalo Overpowers NHL Betting Favorite Boston

The Buf­falo Sabres defeated the Boston Bru­ins 4–2 on Thurs­day, cour­tesy of Thomas Vanek and Jason Pom­inville who net­ted goals in third-period to break the tie.

Attract­ing around 80% of the NHL bet­ting action, the Boston Bru­ins were the clear favorites against Buf­falo among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the NHL lines at –164, Boston failed to delight the major­ity of bet­tors as they lost to the under­dog Bru­ins (+151).

Ryan Miller made 38 saves for the Sabres, who have won five out of seven games so far. Buf­falo man­aged to cut a one-goal deficit twice in the first two stan­zas. Vanek had a wrist shot with 5:13 into the third to elude Tuukka Rask and lead the Sabres.

Buf­falo had a two-goal advan­tage in the last 3:20 min­utes, as Pom­inville chipped in with Vanek’s shot. Cody McCormick and Nathan Gerbe also tal­lied for Buf­falo, which reached within six points for the final play­off spot in the East­ern Conference.

Rask allowed four goals on 33 shots for Boston, which is lead­ing by three points over Mon­treal in the North­east Division.
