Washington State Upsets NCAA Basketball Betting Favorite Washington

Klay Thomp­son chipped in 25 points to rally the Wash­ing­ton State Cougars over the No. 17 Wash­ing­ton Huskies to an 87–80 win on Sunday.

Draw­ing around 75% of the NCAA bas­ket­ball bet­ting action, the Wash­ing­ton Huskies were the clear favorites against Wash­ing­ton State among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the col­lege bas­ket­ball lines at –3.5, Wash­ing­ton dis­ap­pointed the major­ity of bet­tors as they lost to the Cougars.

Trail­ing 33–28 in the last 5:12 min­utes of the first half, the Cougars man­aged to sur­pass Wash­ing­ton 17–10 for a two-point lead in the halftime.

Wash­ing­ton State (15–6, 5–4 Pac-10) began the sec­ond half with 10–1 advan­tage as Mar­cus Capers and Reg­gie Moore scored five points each. The Huskies failed to come within six points in the rest of the game.

Thomp­son com­pleted 9-of-18 shots for a game-high 25 points, half of those being 3-point attempts. Moore added 18 points, while Faisal Aden scored 15 points for the Cougars.

Isa­iah Thomas scored 19 points for Wash­ing­ton (15–5, 7–2), which shot just 37.1 per­cent in the entire game.
