Nasir Robin­son scored to make a strong sec­ond half as the No. 6 Pitts­burgh Pan­thers ral­lied to a 71–58 vic­tory over the West Vir­ginia Moun­taineers on Thursday.

Draw­ing around 60% of the NCAA bas­ket­ball bet­ting action, the Pitts­burgh Pan­thers were the clear favorites against West Vir­ginia among Line­Maker bet­tors. With the col­lege bas­ket­ball lines at –8, Pitts­burgh lived up to the expec­ta­tions of the major­ity of bet­tors by defeat­ing the Mountaineers.

Com­plet­ing 6-of-8 shots from the field, Robin­son chipped in with 15 points to pace Pitts­burgh (25–3, 13–2 Big East), which won six out of seven con­tests. Gilbert Brown, Brad Wana­maker and Lamar Pat­ter­son pulled in 11 points each for the Pan­thers, who got a two-game advan­tage over Notre Dame in the Big East.

Casey Mitchell pulled in 22 points for West Vir­ginia. Pitts­burgh com­pleted 57 per­cent shots from the field, whereas the Moun­taineers (17–10, 8–7) shot just 34 percent.
