Yankees Advises Brewers to Quit Moaning
The New York Yankees pointed out that Brewers should stop crabbing about the differences in their payroll. This reaction came following a comment by Milwaukee Brewer’s owner Mark Attansio, in a USA Today report indicating that Yankees infield is tossing more money than the Brewers, as Milwaukee “struggles” to sign Prince Fielder.
Taking this remark seriously, giving interview to a New York radio station, Randy Levine, the president of Yankees, specified that Yankees were playing “by all the rules.”On the contrary, he raised questions about millions of dollars that Brewers have received through revenue sharing.
Since revenue sharing was introduced the Yankees has paid out $175 million, which is a whopping 92 percent of all revenue-sharing payments. Having the largest payroll of all, over $200 million, the defending World Series champion Yankees persists to lead the league this season as well. LinesMaker betting odds have the Yankees at 11–4 favorites to win the World Series.
The Yankees’ starting infield will be paid about $85 million, much more than 16 MLB teams entire payroll — and perhaps the best damn infield of all time, while overall payroll of Brewers for this season is about $80 million. The long shot Brewers have betting odds of 50–1 to win the World Series.
