The New York Yan­kees man­aged to stay in the run­ning as they topped Texas  7–2 in Game 5 of the ALCS on Wednes­day, as Nick Swisher and Robin­son Cano  had back-to-back homers.

Attract­ing nearly 65% of the MLB bet­ting action, the New York Yan­kees were the clear favorites among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the bet­ting lines at –161, the Yan­kees lived up to the expec­ta­tions of the major­ity of bet­tors by beat­ing the Rangers (+151).

Cur­tis Grander­son went 3-for-4 with a solo shot and a pair of RBI for New York, which pre­vented elim­i­na­tion and forced a Game 6 on the Rangers, slated for Fri­day in Arling­ton, Texas.

Back­ing CC Sabathia, Jorge Posada drove in a sin­gle with two hits.  Sabathia (1–0) pulled through an incon­sis­tent out­ing as he allowed a pair of runs on 11 hits over six innings, strik­ing out seven with no walks.

Posada and Grander­son recorded RBI sin­gles and out­fielder Jeff Fran­coeur made a field­ing error, that helped the Yan­kees get a 3–0 lead off Texas starter C.J. Wil­son (0–1) in the sec­ond. Swisher and Cano con­tributed with back-to-back shots in the third inning to drive the Yan­kees to the win.

Matt Tre­anor home­red and col­lected two runs for Texas, who are look­ing for­ward to makint it to the World Series for first time in fran­chise his­tory by win­ning Game 6.
