MLB Betting: Phillies Sign Cliff Lee
According to the latest reports from multiple media sources, Cliff Lee, the esteemed free-agent pitcher, has signed a five year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Speaking with a MLB betting perspective, the MLB betting odds of Philadelphia are likely to improve with Lee joining them in the coming season. Currently, the Philadelphia Phillies are the second favorite, with the betting lines at +600, at LinesMaker to succeed in the 2011 World Series Championship. The top-favorite for the 2011 World Series are the New York Yankees with +250 odds.
Apparently, the left-handed starter has turned down the offers from the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees and decided to return with the Phillies.
The 32-year-old hurler helped the Texas Rangers to reach to the American League crown last season, prior to losing to the San Francisco Giants, twice in the World Series.
Jon Daniels, Texas General Manager informed MLB.com that Lee has specified that he won’t be returning to the club. Moreover, YES Network reportedly said that Lee have rejected the Yankees offer as well.
Lee recorded a 3.18 ERA over 28 starts in 2010, and even helped Phillies in making to the 2009 World Series against the Yankees.
