MLB Betting: Giants Win First World Series Title in 56 Years

The San Fran­cisco Giants posted a 3–1 win over the Texas Rangers on Mon­day to cap­ture the World Series title, their first since 1954. Tim Lince­cum gave up just one run over eight innings, while Edgar Rente­ria had a homer to lead the Giants to the win.

Attract­ing nearly 70% of the MLB bet­ting action, the Texas Rangers (-165) were the clear favorites against San Fran­cisco among Lines­Maker bet­tors. How­ever, the Rangers were a huge dis­ap­point­ment to most bet­tors by los­ing to the Giants (+155).

Lince­cum (2–0) gave three hits with two walks while strik­ing out 10 in his impres­sive per­for­mance. Lince­cum and Cliff Lee (0–2) of Rangers dueled in over six score­less innings.

How­ever, the Giants broke it in the sev­enth frame, as Cody Ross and Juan Uribe scored a sin­gle while Rente­ria hit a three-run homer into the left-center field stands.

Lince­cum out­du­eled Lee once more in the Series, ear­lier he bested Lee in Game 1. Toss­ing 1–2-3 ninth for the sec­ond game in a row, Brian Wil­son had a save.

Pitch­ing for seven innings for Texas, Lee allowed three runs on six hits with no walks.

Nel­son Cruz home­red for the Rangers, who lost in the first World Series appear­ance in the his­tory of franchise.
