MLB Betting: Giants Win First World Series Title in 56 Years
The San Francisco Giants posted a 3–1 win over the Texas Rangers on Monday to capture the World Series title, their first since 1954. Tim Lincecum gave up just one run over eight innings, while Edgar Renteria had a homer to lead the Giants to the win.
Attracting nearly 70% of the MLB betting action, the Texas Rangers (-165) were the clear favorites against San Francisco among LinesMaker bettors. However, the Rangers were a huge disappointment to most bettors by losing to the Giants (+155).
Lincecum (2–0) gave three hits with two walks while striking out 10 in his impressive performance. Lincecum and Cliff Lee (0–2) of Rangers dueled in over six scoreless innings.
However, the Giants broke it in the seventh frame, as Cody Ross and Juan Uribe scored a single while Renteria hit a three-run homer into the left-center field stands.
Lincecum outdueled Lee once more in the Series, earlier he bested Lee in Game 1. Tossing 1–2-3 ninth for the second game in a row, Brian Wilson had a save.
Pitching for seven innings for Texas, Lee allowed three runs on six hits with no walks.
Nelson Cruz homered for the Rangers, who lost in the first World Series appearance in the history of franchise.
