The San Fran­cisco Giants rolled over the Texas Rangers for a 2–0 World Series lead on Thurs­day. Matt Cain had a four-hit shutout game in 7.2 innings while Edgar Rente­ria reg­is­tered a homer with three runs to power the Giants.

Attract­ing nearly 55% of the MLB bet­ting action, the Texas Rangers, with the bet­ting lines at +110, were the clear favorites against San Fran­cisco among Lines­Maker bet­tors, if not the odd­mak­ers. How­ever, Texas dis­ap­pointed the major­ity of bet­tors by los­ing to the Giants (-117).

The game was close until the Giants bat­tered the Rangers for seven runs in the eighth to pro­pel a tense bat­tle that high­lighted a duel between Cain and C.J. Wilson.

With this win, the Giants have a 2–0 lead in the best-of-seven series, which will con­tinue on Sat­ur­day with the first ever World Series game held in Arling­ton, Texas.

The Texas offense wasn’t impres­sive, and pulled in just four hits, includ­ing a dou­ble by Ian Kinsler.
