Every­thing seems to be falling into place for the Texas Rangers, as they over­whelmed the Detroit Tigers, 8–0, at Com­er­ica Park on Tues­day. Tommy Hunter’s mas­ter­piece in the form of a three-hitter for seven innings dom­i­nated the Tigers along with improv­ing his record to 7–0. Ian Kinsler con­tributed a triple with three-run homer.

Detroit starter Armando Galar­raga gave up two runs in the first inning. Elvis Andrus started the game with a sin­gle and was fol­lowed by a triple run homer by Kinsler, scor­ing on Josh Hamilton’s sac­ri­fice fly.

The Rangers con­tin­ued their impres­sive run of 16 wins in the last 21 games played on the road. Texas, 55–39, con­tin­ues to strengthen its hold on first place in the Amer­i­can League’s Cen­tral Divi­sion with its fifth win in six out­ings since the All-Star break.

The Texas Rangers are attempt­ing to take the favorite tag away from the Yan­kees. Listed at +700 to win the World Series at Lines­Maker, the Rangers are the sec­ond most bet upon team, while the Yan­kees still con­tinue to be the hot favorites with +200 bet­ting odds. The Boston Red Sox who started off as one of the favorites are at +1500; while every­thing con­tin­ues to go wrong with Texas’s oppo­nents from Tues­day, the Detroit Tigers, who are lan­guish­ing with odds of +2500.
