Rangers Overpower Tigers
Everything seems to be falling into place for the Texas Rangers, as they overwhelmed the Detroit Tigers, 8–0, at Comerica Park on Tuesday. Tommy Hunter’s masterpiece in the form of a three-hitter for seven innings dominated the Tigers along with improving his record to 7–0. Ian Kinsler contributed a triple with three-run homer.
Detroit starter Armando Galarraga gave up two runs in the first inning. Elvis Andrus started the game with a single and was followed by a triple run homer by Kinsler, scoring on Josh Hamilton’s sacrifice fly.
The Rangers continued their impressive run of 16 wins in the last 21 games played on the road. Texas, 55–39, continues to strengthen its hold on first place in the American League’s Central Division with its fifth win in six outings since the All-Star break.
The Texas Rangers are attempting to take the favorite tag away from the Yankees. Listed at +700 to win the World Series at LinesMaker, the Rangers are the second most bet upon team, while the Yankees still continue to be the hot favorites with +200 betting odds. The Boston Red Sox who started off as one of the favorites are at +1500; while everything continues to go wrong with Texas’s opponents from Tuesday, the Detroit Tigers, who are languishing with odds of +2500.
