Ravens’ Kindle Won’t Report to Camp Following Head Injury

Rookie line­backer Ser­gio Kin­dle, the Bal­ti­more Ravens first NFL Draft pick in 2010, was hos­pi­tal­ized after suf­fer­ing head injuries Thurs­day. He fell down a flight of stairs and is in “sta­ble con­di­tion” accord­ing to the team.

Kin­dle may face a set­back of a few weeks apart from not being able to attend the Rookie camp on the first day, where he was expect­ing to learn under the tute­lage of Ray Lewis.

The Ravens spec­i­fied in a state­ment released Sun­day, that the 22-year-old Kin­dle sus­tained the head injuries and is being treated at the Uni­ver­sity Med­ical Cen­ter Brackenridge.

Kin­dle used to play at Texas before his acqui­si­tion by the Ravens in the sec­ond round of the NFL draft in April. Kin­dle hasn’t signed with the Ravens till now.

Ear­lier, Kin­dle was counted among the top-25 draft prospects but slipped to 43d over­all. Cur­rently, he is listed at +1200 at Lines­Maker for the 2010–2011 AP NFL Defen­sive Rookie of the Year.

Lines­Maker has placed the Bal­ti­more Ravens at +1000 to win the Super Bowl and the favorites to win the AFC North at –145. They have also made the Ravens over/under win total at 10 wins. Bal­ti­more should be able to win 10–11 NFL games in the 2010 season.
