Rangers Continue Their Winning Streak
The Rangers claimed one of their best winning streaks in the club’s history and Josh Hamilton continues to stay at the center of it. Hamilton hit a double homer and helped lift a runner at home on Tuesday as the Rangers increased their winning streak to nine games. They beat the Pirates 6–3 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Julio Bourbon hit a three run homer in the fifth inning and erased a 2–1 deficit, putting the Rangers ahead for good, while Josh Hamilton and Michael Young added solo shots.
Tommy Hunter 3–0 gave away only two runs out of nine hits in his six-inning start. Darren Oliver threw two scoreless innings of reprieve and Neftali Feliz picked up his 20th save in the Texas win.
This win took the Rangers to tie the mark for the second-best win streak in franchise history. The Rangers also won nine games in a row in 1991, did it twice in 1999 and most recently did it in 2005. The Texas Rangers have odds of +1500 and the Pittsburg Pirates have odds of +10000 to win this year’s World Series.
