This was the first loss for the Amer­i­cans in Olympic bas­ket­ball prior to the defeat in 1988.
In 1992, the “Dream Team” was formed, and NBA stars Magic John­son, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Michael Jor­dan, Chris Mullin, Reg­gie Miller and Clyde Drexler awed the world with their dis­play of mas­tery of the sport of bas­ket­ball.
