The Griz­zlies and the Celtics pos­sessed the two worst records in the NBA. Yet, they will receive picks # 4 & 5 respec­tively. There will most cer­tainly be qual­ity play­ers avail­able at those picks, but nowhere in the class of Greg Oden and Kevin Dur­rant, who are slated to become the top two selec­tions at the draft held on June 28th. It appears that the draft lot­tery has set the rebuild­ing pro­grams for these two clubs back many years. On the other hand, the New York Knicks were saved from embar­rass­ment from their trade for Eddy Curry from Chicago. If Chicago had won the lot­tery with the Knicks ’draft choice from the Curry trade, it would have been the equiv­a­lent of trad­ing Eddy Curry for Greg Oden.
