Penguin Earns NHL’s Top Weekly Honor

Last week saw Pitts­burgh cen­ter Sid­ney Crosby tak­ing home the NHL’s First Star of the Week honor. Fifth year star Crosby reg­is­tered his sec­ond hat trick of the sea­son for the Pen­guins against Rangers on Sat­ur­day. His three goals and two assists helped the Pen­guins net a 8 – 3 vic­tory over the New York Rangers.

Crosby gained No. 1 star recog­ni­tion for games played Novem­ber 23 – 29. The sec­ond star went to New Jer­sey goal ten­der Mar­tin Brodeur who went 3–0 last week, allow­ing one goal in each game with a .963 save per­cent­age. Third star hon­ors went to Toronto for­ward Niklas Hag­man, who scored fives goals in three games, includ­ing two con­sec­u­tive goals in wins over Florida and Tamp Bay.
