Eagles Soar, Bears Bust and Bettors Bank

Philadelphia, at –165 on the money line wagering, was a strong favorite over Chicago on Sunday after two close loses. Members at LinesMaker were betting on the Eagles as well with over 75% of the betting action on Philly. This time the Eagles finally found a way to win with a narrow 29–24 victory. Donovan McNabb threw for 244 yards, LeSean McCoy scored the go-ahead touchdown with 5 minutes 31 seconds left leading the Eagles beat the host Bears. The Bears were leading by 20–17 when Philadelphia’s Antonio Dixon blocked a 48-yard field-goal attempt by Robbie...

The Saint March to Victory

There were no surprises when the visiting New Orleans Saints, –525 on the money line, rolled to a 38–7 victory against Tampa Bay. The Saints were odds on favorite, to win and cover the spread, with over two-thirds of the betting action at LinesMaker Sportsbook. Their victory was sealed by Drew Brees, he threw for three touchdown passes, leaving the Saints still unbeaten at 10–0. Brees says: “I feel like we haven’t peaked yet,” so keep an eye on the Saints as perhaps their best is yet to come. The Bucs drove 95 yards for a touchdown on their first possession...

Browns Bumble, Loins Roar

In a turn of fortunes from last year, the betting action was favoring the Detroit Lions to win out right and they did not disappoint with a 38–37 victory over the lowly Cleveland Browns. Matthew Stafford’s fifth touchdown pass, a 1 yarder to Brandon Pettigrew, followed by Jason Hanson’s extra point in the final play took the Loins to victory over the Browns. The Lions touchdown was aided by Cleveland’s Hank Poteat who was called for pass interference in the end zone when Stafford heaved a desperation attempt from the Cleveland 32.

Bears Are Golden

Favorites Stanford were heavily supported with nearly 80% of the betting action when they met the California Golden Bears, but the Bears were spectacular offensively against the Cardinals, taking them to victory. The Bears managed to tally 477 yards as a team while Shane Vereen rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns, when he replaced an injured Jahvid Best. California won 34–28 and saw its second-straight win over a ranked opponent.

Ducks Beat Wildcats: Fail to Cover

Of all the Pac-10 meetings this week Oregon and Arizona was the best of the bunch. There was a lot at stake and the game proved to be an instant classic. Oregon was a 5-point road favorite according to LinesMaker and most other sportsbooks. Nearly 70% of the betting action went with the Ducks, but it did not work out for the concensus bettors this time. Arizona held the lead for most of the game but Oregon managed a touchdown in the closing seconds to force overtime. The Ducks finally prevailed by a field goal in double overtime – securing the win...

Cowboys Beat Redskins: Fail to Cover Spread

It was a close call for the heavily favored Dallas Cowboys but for the second straight week Dallas saw victory. Although they won outright, Dallas failed to cover the spread. Tony Romo led Dallas, completing seven straight passes, the last a 10-yarder to Patrick Crayton for a touchdown with 2:41 left that gave Dallas their 7–6 victory. The Cowboy’s retain their hold on first place in the NFC East conference. The visiting Redskins were leading 6 – 0 on two field goals, but Shaun Suisham, missed a 39 and 50 yard attempts sealing the win for Dallas.

Panthers Claw Victory Over Sabres

The claws where out on Wednesday night when Florida Panthers struck against the Buffalo Sabres in a 6–2 victory. Michael Frolik scored twice and they went on to win with three late goals. The Panthers now have six wins in their last nine games. The Panther’s did have a poor start this season and failed to make last season playoffs. They have been unfairly labeled as a weak team but even after their recent success the public aren’t convinced of their ability. They are +190 underdogs for tonight’s match against the Detroit Red Wings and 80% of the betting...

College Basketball Round Up

In the second round of the N.I.T. Season Tip-Off in Storrs, home team Connecticut secured a 76 – 67 victory over Hofstra on Tuesday. Jerome Dyson scored 23 points, including 9 straight points for UConn in the final 1.39. UConn will advance to the semifinals next week at MSG. Despite their win, public betting shows no favor for Connecticut with 70% of the betting volume favoring Notre Dame in their game this Saturday, 21st November. Ashton Gibbs helped Pittsburgh open a 22-point lead when he hit five 3-pointers in the first half. Suffering from...

Early Betting Favors Mayweather Over Pacquiao

The only thing left now for Manny Pacquiao is the fight. Every boxing enthusiast knows that the fight can only refer to a much anticipated Pacquiao vs. Mayweather matchup. The fight has yet to be made, potentially it may not ever occur,. but LinesMaker Sportsbook is already taking bets on who will win if Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. ever get into the ring. Despite Pacquiao, coming off a dominating win over Miguel Cotto, LinesMaker currently has Mayweather as a –145 favorite to beat Pacquiao. There is no denying Pacquiao is a special...
