College Basketball Round Up

In the second round of the N.I.T. Season Tip-Off in Storrs, home team Connecticut secured a 76 – 67 victory over Hofstra on Tuesday. Jerome Dyson scored 23 points, including 9 straight points for UConn in the final 1.39. UConn will advance to the semifinals next week at MSG. Despite their win, public betting shows no favor for Connecticut with 70% of the betting volume favoring Notre Dame in their game this Saturday, 21st November.

Ashton Gibbs helped Pittsburgh open a 22-point lead when he hit five 3-pointers in the first half. Suffering from the loss of their coach and many of their players in a trouble filled off-season, Binghamton’s play was far from perfect. Even though manager, Jamie Dixon, believes they could do much better, Pittsburgh took an easy 71 – 46 victory against Binghamton. LinesMaker betting odds have the Pitts as 16.5 point favorites against East Kentucky for tonight’s game.

Michigan St. had a 75 – 71 win against Gongaza when Durrell Summers hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 3:02 left, made two at the line with 5.7 seconds to go and finished with 21 points to help Michigan State beat Gonzaga at home. At LinesMaker, college basketball betting action has Michigan State +800 odds to win the NCAA Championship 2010.

North Texas edged out Texas-Arlington 101–99 in double overtime on Wednesday night. North Texas had some great play when Josh White scored a career-high 35 points. Marquez Haynes led Arlington with 29 points and Brandon Long added 28. Shannon Shorter hit a free throw with 12 seconds remaining for the final point. After a Haynes layup pulled Arlington to within 100–99, a jumper by Long rattled out in the closing seconds. The public betting action shows North Texas favored by just 28% of the netting volume against Army on November 21st.

Reginald Delk scored 20 points off the bench to help Louisville to a 96 — 66 victory over Arkansas in the Hall of Fame Showcase in St. Louis. In the second game of the showcase top-ranked Kansas struggled to fight off an upset bid by Memphis. Kansas took the victory with in a slim 57–55 edge in scoring. Arkansas meets Mississippi St on Saturday.
