A quiet and unim­pres­sive week­end for Col­lege hoops but the can­di­date for game of the week is the Broncs nar­row 55–51 vic­tory at home to the 0–6 Red Foxes.

Justin Robin­son and Ryan Thomp­son nailed late free throws for the win. It could have turned into a dis­as­trous loss for the Broncs, with La Salle, Rut­gers and a visit to Siena on the sched­ule in the com­ing weeks. Despite the vic­tory, how­ever, the Broncs are def­i­nitely struggling.

Spec­u­la­tion is link­ing the strug­gles to their best player and NBA prospect Ryan Thomp­son. In his senior sea­son, his stats are down across the board. His shoot­ing per­cent­ages are the most notable, shoot­ing 42.6 per­cent from the field (50.9 last year) and 34.2 per­cent from three (42.2 last year). Thomp­son played his worst game yet against Marist. He scored only one point, 0–8 FG, 0–5 3pt, 2 rebounds, three assists and two turnovers in 39 minutes.

Rider needs Thomp­son to get to back on form as they are fast los­ing hope of a tour­na­ment bid.
