Positive Results for Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers defeated the Seat­tle Mariners 8–1 on Wednes­day night. Ear­lier the same day it was revealed Texas man­ager Ron Wash­ing­ton tested pos­i­tive for cocaine, amaz­ingly this news seemed to have a pos­i­tive affect on the team’s game.

Wash­ing­ton admit­ted how “stu­pid and shame­ful” his actions were luck­ily his team did not fol­low suit.  The Rangers scored eight times in the early innings; Nes­lon Cruz hit two home runs Josh Hamil­ton and Chris Davis added solo homers for the Rangers and righty Scott Feld­man gave them four stel­lar innings.

Seat­tle pitcher Cliff Lee made his highly antic­i­pated debut only to be sus­pended for the first five games of the reg­u­lar sea­son for throw­ing over the head of a hit­ter. Ian Snell felt the impact of the Mariners slug­ging allow­ing six hits and three runs in four innings, strik­ing out five but allow­ing four home runs includ­ing Cruz and Hamil­ton. He feels he is still learn­ing and wants to improve on his bullpen and side work.

The World Series is still a long way off but after this week’s events we’ll see how the Rangers fair and how the Mariners improve.  Both teams have odds at Lines­Maker of 25/1 to win the World Series.
