Yankees Advises Brewers to Quit Moaning

The New York Yan­kees pointed out that Brew­ers should stop crab­bing about the dif­fer­ences in their pay­roll. This reac­tion came fol­low­ing a com­ment by Mil­wau­kee Brewer’s owner Mark Attan­sio, in a USA Today report indi­cat­ing that Yan­kees infield is toss­ing more money than the Brew­ers, as Mil­wau­kee “strug­gles” to sign Prince Fielder.

Tak­ing this remark seri­ously, giv­ing inter­view to a New York radio sta­tion, Randy Levine, the pres­i­dent of Yan­kees, spec­i­fied that Yan­kees were play­ing “by all the rules.”On the con­trary, he raised ques­tions about mil­lions of dol­lars that Brew­ers have received through rev­enue sharing.

Since rev­enue shar­ing was intro­duced the Yan­kees has paid out $175 mil­lion, which is a whop­ping 92 per­cent of all revenue-sharing pay­ments. Hav­ing the largest pay­roll of all, over $200 mil­lion, the defend­ing World Series cham­pion Yan­kees per­sists to lead the league this sea­son as well.
