NFL Betting: Philadelphia Thrashes Houston

The Philadel­phia Eagles ral­lied to a 34–24 win over the Hous­ton Tex­ans on Thurs­day, thanks to Michael Vick who scored two touch­downs in fourth quarter.

Fin­ish­ing 22-of-33 passes for 302 yards with two scores, Vick ran for 48 yards while car­ry­ing the ball 10 times.

Attract­ing nearly 55% of the NFL bet­ting action, the Hous­ton Tex­ans, with bet­ting lines at +8.5, were the clear favorites against Philadel­phia among most Lines­Maker bet­tors, if not the odd­mak­ers. How­ever, Hous­ton failed to live up to the expec­ta­tions of the major­ity of bet­tors by los­ing to the Eagles.

The Tex­ans led in the third quar­ter with 14 points.  The 2-yard touch­down run from Vick at the end of a 60-yard drive in the fourth led Philadel­phia 27–24.

In its next pos­ses­sion, Hous­ton was forced to punt, as Vick went for 72 yards in eight plays for Philadel­phia as he hit Owen Schmitt with a 5-yard scor­ing pass.

Improv­ing to 8–4, the Eagles took a half-game lead over the New York Giants to claim the first posi­tion in NFC East.

Philadelphia’s first touch­down came when Vick threw a 1-yard pass to LeSean McCoy for com­plet­ing an 88-yard drive, as the Eagles led 20–10 in halftime.

Arian Fos­ter accounted for 13-yard and 3-yard touch­down runs for Hous­ton in the third quar­ter. Matt Schaub fin­ished 22-of-36 passes for 337 yards with a pair of touch­downs in the first half.

The Tex­ans ( 5–7) are trail­ing behind Indi­anapo­lis and Jack­sonville by a game-and-a-half in the AFC South.
