Minnesota Upsets NFL Betting Favorite Philadelphia

The Min­nesota Vikings posted a 24–14 vic­tory over the Philadel­phia Eagles on Tues­day, thanks to rookie quar­ter­back Joe Webb who high­lighted his first NFL start by throw­ing for 195 yards.

Webb, who replaced Brett Favre after he missed the game fol­low­ing a con­cus­sion, com­pleted 17-of-26 passes with a score for the Vikings.

Draw­ing nearly 70% of the NFL bet­ting action, the Philadel­phia Eagles were the clear favorites against Min­nesota among Lines­Maker bet­tors. With the NFL bet­ting lines at –14, Philadel­phia turned out to be a big set­back for the major­ity of bet­tors as they lost to the Vikings.

Adrian Peter­son went for 118 yards on 23 car­ries and a touch­down in the final 6:43 min­utes to seal the win.  This was the first vic­tory since 1985 for the Vikings (6–9) in Philadelphia.

The Pro Bowl starter Michael Vick was lim­ited to 25-of-43 pass­ing for 263 yards by the Vikings’ defense.

Vick also scored on a touch­down with an inter­cep­tion for the NFC East champions.

Despite this loss, the Eagles (10–5) reserved the No. 3 seed posi­tion in the NFC.
