Cavaliers Clinch Central Division
The Cavaliers clinched the NBA’s Central Division championship with LeBron James’ fourth quarter heroics on Wednesday night.
The 99 – 94 victory against the Indiana Pacers was the second straight outright championship win for Cleveland (54–15). They are the first team this season to claim a division title.
The game was close with four minutes, seven seconds left when the Pacers had closed to within one (88–87). James showed his true power and athletic skills to put it away for the Cavaliers. They and the Lakers have odds of 7/5 to win the NBA Championship at LInesMaker and 1/3 to win the Eastern Conference.
LeBron James has beaten Magic Johnson’s record becoming the third player to have 49 games or more with 30 plus points, eight-plus rebounds and eight plus assists. He had 32 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Cavaliers on Wednesday. LeBron is 1/10 favorite for regular season MVP.
The Pacers have not had a good week faltering in the last few minutes against both Cleveland and Milwaukee. They have lost 13 of their last 17 games, including nine straight on the road.
