The Heat Is On Despite Missing Talent

Miami Heat has turned up the offense after a four game slump win­ning five out of six games after defeat­ing host Philadel­phia on Sunday.

The Heat was play­ing with a few men down:  lead­ing scorer Michael Beasley was side­lined for their last two games with a bruised thigh. Dorell Wright is on his first of a two-game sus­pen­sion after being charged with a DUI and dri­ving with a sus­pended license and point guard Rafer Alston was sus­pended for the sea­son after he left the team with­out telling any mem­ber of the orga­ni­za­tion why.

Dur­ing the game they lost Jer­maine O’Neal, who had a sea­son high of 25 points on Fri­day against Chicago. Miami were lead­ing 73 – 57 in the third quar­ter when he was ejected after he grab­bing Samuel Dalembert’s face for which he received two tech­ni­cal fouls. They had a 15 – 3 run in the final 4:46 of the third quar­ter. James Jones sank a pair of 3-pointers, and a run­ning dunk from Jamaal Magloire gave the Heat a 16-point lead. Dwayne Wade stepped up and scored 38 points tak­ing the team to their 104 – 91 vic­tory over the 76ers. He fin­ished 14 for 25 with five rebounds.

Philadel­phia (23–42) is 0–2 against Miami (34–32) this sea­son and this was their fourth con­sec­u­tive loss this season.
