The Heat Is On Despite Missing Talent
Miami Heat has turned up the offense after a four game slump winning five out of six games after defeating host Philadelphia on Sunday.
The Heat was playing with a few men down: leading scorer Michael Beasley was sidelined for their last two games with a bruised thigh. Dorell Wright is on his first of a two-game suspension after being charged with a DUI and driving with a suspended license and point guard Rafer Alston was suspended for the season after he left the team without telling any member of the organization why.
During the game they lost Jermaine O’Neal, who had a season high of 25 points on Friday against Chicago. Miami were leading 73 – 57 in the third quarter when he was ejected after he grabbing Samuel Dalembert’s face for which he received two technical fouls. They had a 15 – 3 run in the final 4:46 of the third quarter. James Jones sank a pair of 3-pointers, and a running dunk from Jamaal Magloire gave the Heat a 16-point lead. Dwayne Wade stepped up and scored 38 points taking the team to their 104 – 91 victory over the 76ers. He finished 14 for 25 with five rebounds.
Philadelphia (23–42) is 0–2 against Miami (34–32) this season and this was their fourth consecutive loss this season.
