Marty Turco prevented 33 shots and rallied the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3–1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday.
Attracting nearly 65% of the NHL betting action, the Chicago Blackhawks (-143) were the clear favorites against Los Angeles among LinesMaker bettors. Chicago delighted the majority of bettors by beating the Kings (+132).
Viktor Stalberg kicked off the deciding goal in the second quarter for Chicago, who produced a goal in each period to snap a two-game losing streak. Stalberg fired a slap shot past Jonathan Bernier while Patrick Sharp sealed it with 2:05 as he scored his ninth goal of the game.
The Blackhawks’ scoring was opened by Jake Dowell 5:16 into the game. Justin Williams scored the only goal against Turco for the Kings in the first period.
Emerging in goal for the third time this season and the 10th time in his three-year career, Bernier prevented 25-of-28 shots. Kings backup Bernier was tagged with the loss for allowing three goals on 28 shots.
The win might prove costly for the defending Stanley Cup champions Chicago, as winger Marian Hossa left the game in the second period with an undisclosed injury and did not return.
