Today a global audi­ence heard a 14-minute con­fes­sional from Tiger Woods in which he begged for­give­ness for his “self­ish and fool­ish” behav­ior. This was a heart-felt plea from Woods to help rec­tify his tainted rep­u­ta­tion per­son­ally and professionally. The world’s rich­est sports­man has always been seen as a paragon of virtue – a man with true fam­ily val­ues and morals. Mar­i­ano Rivera has started spring train­ing with the Yan­kees. It’s his 17th sea­son, he’s 40 years old and was the 18th old­est pitcher play­ing in the major league last year. Rivera is enter­ing the 2010 sea­son look­ing healthy and, after throw­ing the final pitch of 2009 for the Yan­kees, he’s ready for action. Cavs Strengthens Front Line

Wash­ing­ton Wiz­ards made a three-team trade on Wednes­day. Drew Gooden was sent to the Los Ange­les Clip­pers and Antawn Jami­son joins the front line with along with LeBron and Shaq at the Cleve­land Cavaliers. The Wiz­ards acquired Al Thorn­ton from Los Ange­les, Cav­a­liers cen­ter Zydrun­nas Ilgauskas and rights to Emir Predldzic, and the Clip­pers sent guard Sebas­t­ian Telfair to Cleve­land. Ari­zona State beat Ore­gon State 61 – 51 on Sat­ur­day in Tempe, Ari­zona.  Ty Abbott scored 19 points and Rihards Kuk­siks scored 12 for ASU keep­ing them in the PAC-10 race. Underdogs Louisville Upsets Syracuse

Under­dogs Louisville Car­di­nals had their biggest win of the sea­son beat­ing 7.5 point favorites No. 2 ranked Syra­cuse Orange 66 – 60 on Sun­day with just 17.8 sec­onds left.  Louisville’s defense man­aged to hold off Syracuse’s high scor­ing and effi­cient defense through­out the game. Other Big East Teams Con­necti­cut, Cincin­nati, Mar­quette and Notre Dame have failed to upset Syra­cuse so it was a real achieve­ment for the Car­di­nals, they were in need of a sig­na­ture win to help their NCAA tour­na­ment chances. McMurray Wins 2010 Daytona 500

Jamie McMur­ray won the 2010 Day­tona 500 at the Day­tona Inter­na­tional Speed­way on Sunday. It was an unpre­dictable and drama filled sea­son opener, the race was delayed twice due to track repairs to fill pot­holes in the tracks sur­face. In lap 8 there was a six-car crash and in lap 122 another repair was needed on turn 22 which stopped the race for 1 hour and 42 minutes. The race saw over 50 lead changes mak­ing it one of the most com­pet­i­tive races in the his­tory of the Day­tona 500.
