Ari­zona State beat Ore­gon State 61 – 51 on Sat­ur­day in Tempe, Ari­zona.  Ty Abbott scored 19 points and Rihards Kuk­siks scored 12 for ASU keep­ing them in the PAC-10 race.

The Ore­gon Ducks (12–12, 4–8 Pac-10) lost their third straight game keep­ing them low down in the PAC-10 despite an early 9-point lead. The have now dropped eight out of ten games after a 2–0 start in the PAC –10. The Sun Dev­ils were 8.5 favorites tak­ing 66% of the bet­ting vol­ume at Lines­Maker, and ASU and Ore­gon are both at +20000 to win the NCAA Championships.

After the Ducks took the early lead the Sun Dev­ils (18–8, 8–5 Pac-10) were kick-started into action by Abbott who hit 5 of 13 shots from beyond the arc. They broke open a close game with a 12–0 run in the mid­dle of the sec­ond half. Abbott man­aged to con­nect three times from beyond the arc dur­ing that stretch. The Ducks man­aged to get to 55–49 with two min­utes left, but then a long three-pointer from ASU’s point guard Derek Glasser with a steal on the other end fin­ished any spec­u­la­tion that the Duck could make a comeback.
