San Antonio Dominates NBA Betting Favorite Memphis
The San Antonio Spurs overpowered the Memphis Grizzlies 93–87 Wednesday, courtesy of Richard Jefferson who scored on a 3-pointer in a late surge.
Attracting nearly 70% of the NBA betting action, the Memphis Grizzlies, with NBA lines at +8, were the favorites against San Antonio among LinesMaker bettors, if not the oddmakers. However, Memphis failed to live up to the expectations of the majority of bettors as they lost to the points-favorite Spurs.
Jefferson’s shot in the last 3:43 minutes helped the Spurs to enhance their three-point advantage to 7–2 runs. San Antonio held on to the lead with George Hill’s four free throws down the stretch.
Returning from an injury that forced him to miss the opening games, Manu Ginobili pulled in 17 points, hauled down seven rebounds and four steals. Missing all three attempts from beyond the arc, Ginobili completed just 5-of-13 shots from the field for the Spurs, who tied the quarterfinals series in Western Conference 1–1.
Tim Duncan and Richard Jefferson scored 16 points each for San Antonio. Tony Parker chipped in 12 rebounds and seven assists in the win.
Sam Young contributed with 17 points for Memphis, which had 39 percent shots in the game. Zach Randolph managed for score just 11 points and had just 5-of-14 from the field for the Grizzlies.
