Arizona’s Shutout by Nebraska in Holiday Bowl

 As Arizona’s coach Mike Stoops com­mented, “this game is hum­bling in many ways,” as he apol­o­gized to fans. Nebraska’s over­whelm­ing 33–0 defeat of Ari­zona was the first shutout in the 32 year his­tory of the Hol­i­day Bowl. Zac Lee threw a 74-yard touch­down pass to Niles Paul in the third quar­ter which high­lighted Nebraska’s dom­i­nance. The Huskers deliv­ered on the defen­sive side of the ball and they earned their first shutout in 46 bowl appear­ances. The Wild­cats didn’t stand a chance in this game. Betting Action for NFL Week 17

Heavy bet­ting action is expected this week­end. Here is our take on the matchups this week: Eagles vs. Cow­boys The win­ner takes the NFC East title and poten­tially a bye in the first-round of the play­offs while the loser gets a wild-card slot. Canadian Olympic Hockey Team Announced

Over 1.5 mil­lion view­ers tuned in to the live tele­vised announce­ment of Canada’s Olympic men’s hockey team yes­ter­day.  Mil­lions more in this hockey mad nation waited with eager antic­i­pa­tion for the Olympic team selec­tions through word of mouth and other media sources. The Win­ter Olympics 2010 will be held in Van­cou­ver next month. Among the 23 play­ers named for the Olympic team were Sid­ney Crosby, Scott Nie­der­mayer and Mar­tin Brodeur. Devils Shut Out Penguins: Strong Future Bet for Cup?

In NHL action, the New Jer­sey Dev­ils shut out the Pitts­burgh Pen­guins with another strong per­for­mance by Brodeur. Chargers Easily Cover Spread Over Titans

With ten wins on the sea­son, the San Diego Charg­ers are on the verge of a play­off berth after their eight straight win, 20 – 17 against the Dal­las Cow­boys. Philip Rivers who hit Anto­nio Gates for a go-ahead touch­down in the fourth quar­ter, took San Diego to their vic­tory over Dallas. The Charg­ers have won their 16th straight in Decem­ber, all with Rivers at the helm. Battle of the Forces – Navy Beats Army

Navy, who Lines­Maker had as 14.5 point favorites, bagged their eighth straight win of the annual bat­tle when they beat Army 17–3 on Sat­ur­day. Despite the vic­tory, the favored Navy squad failed to cover the spread. The Black Knights have now been elim­i­nated from a shot at play­ing in their first bowl game since 1996. Saints March to Win but Fail to Cover

It wasn’t just the Colts who remained unde­feated this Sun­day, the New Orleans Saints man­aged to pull through unde­feated as well.
