Arizona’s Shutout by Nebraska in Holiday Bowl
As Arizona’s coach Mike Stoops commented, “this game is humbling in many ways,” as he apologized to fans. Nebraska’s overwhelming 33–0 defeat of Arizona was the first shutout in the 32 year history of the Holiday Bowl.
Zac Lee threw a 74-yard touchdown pass to Niles Paul in the third quarter which highlighted Nebraska’s dominance. The Huskers delivered on the defensive side of the ball and they earned their first shutout in 46 bowl appearances. The Wildcats didn’t stand a chance in this game. The public consensus was with the Huskers with nearly twice the betting volume on the Huskers who were favored by 2 points.
