Arizona’s Shutout by Nebraska in Holiday Bowl

 As Arizona’s coach Mike Stoops com­mented, “this game is hum­bling in many ways,” as he apol­o­gized to fans. Nebraska’s over­whelm­ing 33–0 defeat of Ari­zona was the first shutout in the 32 year his­tory of the Hol­i­day Bowl.

Zac Lee threw a 74-yard touch­down pass to Niles Paul in the third quar­ter which high­lighted Nebraska’s dom­i­nance. The Huskers deliv­ered on the defen­sive side of the ball and they earned their first shutout in 46 bowl appear­ances. The Wild­cats didn’t stand a chance in this game. The pub­lic con­sen­sus was with the Huskers with nearly twice the bet­ting vol­ume on the Huskers who were favored by 2 points.
