Coaches worked with their play­ers in their area of spe­cial­iza­tion: line coaches worked with offen­sive and defen­sive line­men respec­tively; the line­backer coaches worked with defen­sive line­back­ers, includ­ing the mid­dle and out­side line­backer posi­tions; the sec­ondary coaches worked with the defen­sive sec­ondary per­son­nel, includ­ing the cor­ner­backs and safeties; the offen­sive receiv­ing coaches worked with the receiv­ing corps, includ­ing the ends, both split and tight; the offen­sive back­field coaches worked with the run­ning backs as well as the full­backs or block­ing backs; and the quar­ter­back coach worked with the quarterbacks.

The most sig­nif­i­cant effect of the mini-camp was the renewed chem­istry on the field between star receiver, Plex­ico Bur­ress, and start­ing quar­ter­back Eli Man­ning. After watch­ing these two per­form at the camp, the Giants would be a good NFL play­off wager.

Teams work almost eight months a year to accom­plish the goal of reach­ing the NFL play­offs. For the higher ech­e­lon teams, per­haps a Super Bowl win is the only accept­able goal for these clubs. There is an NFL bet­ting frenzy when the teams com­plete the reg­u­lar sea­son in late Decem­ber and the play­off matchups are announced.
