San Antonio Dominates NBA Betting Favorite Memphis

The San Anto­nio Spurs over­pow­ered the Mem­phis Griz­zlies 93–87 Wednes­day, cour­tesy of Richard Jef­fer­son who scored on a 3-pointer in a late surge.

Attract­ing nearly 70% of the NBA bet­ting action, the Mem­phis Griz­zlies, with NBA lines at +8, were the favorites against San Anto­nio among Lines­Maker bet­tors, if not the odd­mak­ers. How­ever, Mem­phis failed to live up to the expec­ta­tions of the major­ity of bet­tors as they lost to the points-favorite Spurs.

Jefferson’s shot in the last 3:43 min­utes helped the Spurs to enhance their three-point advan­tage to 7–2 runs. San Anto­nio held on to the lead with George Hill’s four free throws down the stretch.

Return­ing from an injury that forced him to miss the open­ing games, Manu Gino­bili pulled in 17 points, hauled down seven rebounds and four steals. Miss­ing all three attempts from beyond the arc, Gino­bili com­pleted just 5-of-13 shots from the field for the Spurs, who tied the quar­ter­fi­nals series in West­ern Con­fer­ence 1–1.

Tim Dun­can and Richard Jef­fer­son scored 16 points each for San Anto­nio. Tony Parker chipped in 12 rebounds and seven assists in the win.

Sam Young con­tributed with 17 points for Mem­phis, which had 39 per­cent shots in the game. Zach Ran­dolph man­aged for score just 11 points and had just 5-of-14 from the field for the Grizzlies.
