Los Angeles Defeats NBA Betting Favorite New Orleans
The Los Angeles Lakers rolled past the New Orleans Hornets, 106–90, on Tuesday in the quarterfinals series of Western Conference, courtesy of Kobe Bryant who poured in 19 points.
Attracting nearly 80% of the NBA betting action, the New Orleans, with NBA lines at +9.5, were the favorites against Los Angeles among LinesMaker bettors, if not the oddmakers. However, they failed to delight the majority of bettors as they lost to the points-favorite Lakers.
Leading a Los Angeles offense that highlighted scores in double figures by six players, Bryant pulled a stunning performance despite a sprained ankle. Andrew Bynum scored 19 points and hauled down 10 rebounds for the Lakers, who took a 3–2 advantage in the series.
Pau Gasol chipped in 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Los Angeles, which collected 42 rebounds.
Trevor Ariza pulled in 22 points for the Hornets, who managed just 25 rebounds. Marco Belinelli and Chris Paul scored 21 and 20 points apiece for New Orleans, which shot 83 percent from the field.
