Islanders Down NHL Betting Favorite Penguins

The New York Islanders rolled past the Pitts­burgh Pen­guins 2–1 Wednes­day, as P.A. Par­enteau scored in the fourth shootout round and New York kept Sid­ney Crosby from scoring.

With this game, Crosby ended his points streak at 25 games, which is the longest streak in the NHL in 18 years. In his streak that started on Nov. 5, Crosby chipped in 50 points with 26 goals and 24 assists and is lead­ing the league with 32 goals and 56 points.

In the first three shootout rounds, both the teams hit two goals. In the fourth shootout, Parenteau’s shot went past Marc-Andre Fleury. Rick DiP­i­etro blocked Mark Letestu as New York reg­is­tered their fifth win in seven games.

Josh Bai­ley scored on a goal 34 sec­onds into the sec­ond quar­ter to help New York take 1–0 lead. How­ever, Chris Con­ner tied the game with 3:27 left in the second.

DiP­i­etro was cred­ited with the win with 37 saves. Fleury stopped 25 shots for the Penguins.
