Brewers overpower the Cubs, 4–3

Mil­wau­kee Brew­ers pounded the Chicago Cubs 4–3 on Tues­day, thanks to Casey McGe­hee and Prince Fielder who had two RBI and two hits apiece. Ryan Braun hit three for the Brew­ers, as they col­lected 11 hits in game as did Chicago. The Brew­ers got the lead with RBI sin­gle from Fielder in the third inning. Cubs’ starter Thomas Dia­mond (0–1) was most dis­ap­pointed by the loss as he made his major league debut. He had 10 hits, but gave up three runs on seven hits, three walks over six frames. Atlanta Beats Mets

Tim Hud­son gave just one run in six innings while Rick Ankiel who scored two RBIs, help­ing the Atlanta Braves to top­ple the New York Mets Mon­day, 4–1. Draw­ing over 69% of bet­ting action, Atlanta (-138) was favored by the bet­tors to pass over NY Mets (+130).  And as antic­i­pated, Atlanta posted their first vic­tory of three games with the Mets, as they improved to a major league-best 35–13 at home. Detroit Lions Betting Preview

There are no high expec­ta­tions from Detroit Lions this year, after they man­aged to have a win total of just 5.5 games last sea­son. Nev­er­the­less, they have a long road ahead before they ful­fill their aim of becom­ing a note­wor­thy team in the realm of NFL bet­ting. Although, their per­for­mance will get a sig­nif­i­cant boost with the addi­tions of DT Ndamukong Suh and RB Jahvid Best in the first round of the NFL Draft. Chicago Bears Betting Preview

In view of the fact that they have no real draft picks of note, Chicago Bears saw an incred­i­ble off-season. Even though they failed to make the same type of dash like they did last year when they smacked a deal for quar­ter­back Jay Cut­ler, how­ever they surely did man­age to make the move of the off-season by acquir­ing defen­sive end Julius Pep­pers as a free agent. Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview

For the sec­ond straight year full of chaos, there is not a team hav­ing so many ques­tion marks going into train­ing camp than Min­nesota. The Vikings are appar­ently still clue­less about who will be play­ing under cen­ter once the reg­u­lar sea­son kicks off. Giants Overpower LA Dodgers

The  San  Fran­cisco  Giants com­pleted a three-game sweep of Los Ange­les with a 2–0 win, cour­tesy to Edgar Renteria’s two-run triple and Matt Cain’s 7 2/3 shutout innings Sunday. The win gave Cain his elu­sive first suc­cess after eight losses in 15 starts against the Dodgers. He scat­tered just four hits and a walk, while fan­ning seven to improve to 9–8 this sea­son. More­over, Brian Wil­son marked his 31st save.
