Tank Carder stopped a 2-point con­ver­sion attempt to seal the win, as No. 3 TCU Horned Frogs knocked off No. 4 Wis­con­sin Bad­gers, 21–19, in the Rose Bowl on Saturday.

Draw­ing around 65% of the NCAA foot­ball bet­ting action, Wis­con­sin, with the bet­ting lines at +3, was the favorite against TCU among Lines­Maker bet­tors, if not the odd­mak­ers. The Bad­gers delighted the major­ity of bet­tors as they pre­vented the Horned Frogs from cov­er­ing the spread.

Mon­tee Ball scored on a 4-yard run with 2:46 min­utes remain­ing in the fourth to help the Bad­gers pull within two points. Scott Tolzein made a 2-point con­ver­sion try that was blocked by Carder, as Bart John­son recov­ered an onside kick for Texas Chris­t­ian (12–0).

Andy Dal­ton com­pleted 15-of-23 pass­ing through the air for 217 yards for TCU. He scored on a touch­down with no inter­cep­tions and nine car­ries for 27 yards.

Luke Shiv­ers added a 1-yard score for the Horned Frogs. This vic­tory marked the first unde­feated sea­son since 1938 for TCU, which have won 27 of 28 games and claimed first Rose Bowl.

Ball rushed for 126 yards, while car­ry­ing the ball 21 times for Wis­con­sin (11–2). Tolzein man­aged to com­plete just 12-of-21 pass­ing for 160 yards with no touch­downs for the Badgers.
