Dodgers to Lose Manny Ramirez?

LA Dodger’s star Manny Ramirez has announced that this will be his last sea­son with the team.

It seems that he is cer­tain his con­tract will not be renewed for next sea­son. “I know I’m not going to be here next year,” Ramirez said Mon­day. He went on to say that he didn’t know why but he just knew that he wouldn’t be with LA. It has to be said Ramirez is renowned for say­ing curi­ous or con­tra­dic­tory things so whether there’s any weight in his state­ment has yet to be seen.

The for­mer World Series MVP is 37 years old and hasn’t ruled out retire­ment at the end of the sea­son. He also stated he’ll see “where he and his fam­ily is at” the end of the sea­son. This will be his 17th major league sea­son and it seems that he may feel phys­i­cally tired and that his best days in base­ball are over.

To be fair he never really returned to his old form last year after a 50 game drug sus­pen­sion. He was hit­ting .348 – six homers and drove in 20 runs in 27 games  –before the sus­pen­sion but went on to fin­ished the sea­son at .290 – dri­ving in just 43 in the 77 games – after his return.
