This week ten­nis fans will see some inter­est­ing matches in the Allianz Suisse Open in Gstaad, Switzer­land. The bal­anced Gstaad draw fea­tures, Youzhny, Mon­tanes, and Richard Gas­quet in the top half along with Bel­lucci and Alma­gro in the bot­tom half. The first-round today will have Daniel Gimeno-Traver play­ing Vic­tor Hanescu. Regard­less of his 6’6’’ frame, Hanescu is at his best on the slow stuff. How­ever, he is not at par with the clay-court spe­cial­ist Gimeno-Traver. More­over, the Spaniard made it to the Stuttgart semi­fi­nals ear­lier this month, while upset­ting Niko­lay Davy­denko in the course of action. On the other hand, Hanescu lost his open­ing matches in Stuttgart as well as Hamburg.

At Lines­Maker, Daniel Gimeno Traver is the favorite with –175 odds to win over Vic­tor Hanescu.
