Brazil and Ivory Coast faced off against each other on Sun­day night. The match was not short of its talk­ing points as Brazil­ian star Kaka was con­tro­ver­sially sent off late in the game after he was shown his sec­ond yel­low for an off the ball foul on Kader Keita.

Luis Fabi­ano starred for Brazil scor­ing a brace, and Elano scored the third goal in the 62^nd minute. It was a com­fort­able vic­tory for the World Cup favorites though they might have expected to be tested more by an Ivory Coast side with plenty of attack­ing tal­ent. After their ster­ling per­for­mances in the Group stages, Brazil has taken the favorite tag from Spain and has odds of 4–1, while Ivory Coast is at 125–1.
