St. Louis Defeats New England, 36–35

The St. Louis Rams recorded a 36–35 pre-season win over New Eng­land Thurs­day, thanks to Josh Brown’s 37-yard field goal in the last min­utes of the game.

The best part of the game were the incred­i­ble per­for­mances of Tom Brady, three-time Super Bowl win­ning quar­ter­back of the Patri­ots, and the NFL’s No. 1 draft pick this year Sam Brad­ford of the Rams.

Brady threw second-half touch­down passes while play­ing into the fourth quar­ter, ral­ly­ing the Patri­ots (2–1) to take a 35–27 lead. He fin­ished 18-of-22 passes for 273 yards.

Brad­ford com­pleted 15-of-22 for 189 yards and two touch­downs. The first score came from a 65-yard pass to Randy Moss and the last one came from a 5-yard pass to Sam Aiken.

The Rams went on to 71 yards in 10 plays with the help of Thad­deus Lewis, while Keith Toston pulled in a 2-yard run. New Eng­land got a 35–33 lead after a 2-point con­ver­sion attempt by the Rams failed.

The Rams (2–1) drove 37 yards to the win­ning field goal.

Inter­est­ingly, attract­ing above 69% of the bet­ting action, New Eng­land (-8) was the favorite against St. Louis among Lines­Maker bet­tors. But, the major­ity of bet­tors were upset as New Eng­land faced defeat at the hands of  St. Louis.
