St. Louis Defeats New England, 36–35
The St. Louis Rams recorded a 36–35 pre-season win over New England Thursday, thanks to Josh Brown’s 37-yard field goal in the last minutes of the game.
The best part of the game were the incredible performances of Tom Brady, three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback of the Patriots, and the NFL’s No. 1 draft pick this year Sam Bradford of the Rams.
Brady threw second-half touchdown passes while playing into the fourth quarter, rallying the Patriots (2–1) to take a 35–27 lead. He finished 18-of-22 passes for 273 yards.
Bradford completed 15-of-22 for 189 yards and two touchdowns. The first score came from a 65-yard pass to Randy Moss and the last one came from a 5-yard pass to Sam Aiken.
The Rams went on to 71 yards in 10 plays with the help of Thaddeus Lewis, while Keith Toston pulled in a 2-yard run. New England got a 35–33 lead after a 2-point conversion attempt by the Rams failed.
The Rams (2–1) drove 37 yards to the winning field goal.
